A quiet companion for your thoughts

A journal that listens in private.

Mira is an iOS journal that reflects with you on-device. Your words never leave your iPhone unless you choose end-to-end encrypted iCloud sync.

What was calming me in April?

What Mira does

Built for the slow act of writing

Write, with mood and place

Daily entries with mood, photos, tags, and locations — soft typography, large editor, no friction.

Reflection without the cloud

A language model runs entirely on your iPhone. Weekly reflections, summaries, and prompts — all local, no network needed.

Ask Mira

A private chat with your own past. Mira reasons over your entries with semantic search to surface what you actually wrote.

Calendar & search

Browse a month at a glance, scrub mood across weeks, search by word or feeling.

Optional encrypted iCloud

When you enable sync, your entries are end-to-end encrypted by Apple — only your devices can read them.

Biometric lock

Face ID or Touch ID protects the journal at the system level. Even on a shared device, it stays yours.

Why Mira

A journal can be loud, or it can listen.

Most apps that promise reflection turn your private thoughts into ad signal or model training data. Mira does the opposite. It is built around one principle — your writing is yours. The on-device model reads it; the cloud does not.
"You have power over your mind — not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength."
— Marcus Aurelius

Privacy by architecture

Three promises, kept by the code.

Your writing stays local

Entries, photos, embeddings, and AI prompts never leave your iPhone. Even with cloud AI, only your single question and a small relevant excerpt go to the model — never your whole journal.

No content in telemetry

Anonymous usage events (which screens, which features) help improve the app. Your entries — text, mood, photos, locations — are never logged, never sent, never seen.

iCloud sync is end-to-end

Optional sync uses Apple's end-to-end encryption: only your signed-in devices hold the keys. Apple cannot read your journal, and neither can we.

How Mira thinks

Two minds, both yours to choose.

On-device · free

On-device language model

A small, fast language model that runs entirely on your iPhone. No network, no limits, no telemetry of what you wrote.

Cloud · with Mira Pro

Cloud AI by subscription

Mira Pro adds a more capable cloud model — Claude. Mira sends only your question and a brief excerpt of relevant entries; the rest of your journal stays on the phone.

Common questions

Quick answers

Where do my entries live?

On your iPhone. Your journal stays on this device. If you turn on iCloud sync, your entries also save to your private iCloud — only you can read them. When you ask Mira a question with cloud AI, only that question and a small relevant piece of your journal go to our servers; everything else stays on the phone.

What's the difference between free and Pro?

Free gives you the full journal: writing, mood, photos, tags, calendar, search, iCloud sync, biometric lock, and a local AI for reflections. Pro unlocks Ask Mira with cloud AI, advanced stats, themes and icons, PDF export, your own AI persona, smart filters, goals and habits, Lock Screen widgets, and importers from other journal apps.

How does the free trial work?

Pro starts with a 7-day free trial. You won't be charged until the trial ends. Cancel any time during the trial — you'll keep Pro until the trial expires, then drop back to free with no charge.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open the iPhone Settings app, tap your name at the top, choose Subscriptions, tap Mira Pro, and Cancel Subscription. Your Pro features stay active until the end of the current billing period.

I'm in Russia — does everything work?

Almost all of Mira works without our servers: writing, mood, photos, search, iCloud sync, themes, the on-device AI. The cloud features (Ask Mira and weekly reflections through the Cloud option) talk to external servers and may be intermittently slow or blocked on Russian networks due to regulatory restrictions on outbound services. If you run into that, switch to the on-device AI in Settings → Intelligence — it runs entirely on your iPhone and doesn't depend on any external service.

Can I delete all my data?

Yes. Settings → Privacy → Delete all entries removes everything from this iPhone. If iCloud sync is on, the deletion also reaches your other devices the next time they sync. If you'd also like us to clear any record of your subscription on our side, write to support.
